Grace Walker’s journey to becoming the only female Recreational Chief Flying Instructor in the area is rooted in a background of service, diversity, and perseverance. Grace developed a deep appreciation for hard work and opportunity early on.
Before taking to the skies professionally, Grace dedicated 12 years as a paramedic — a role demanding calm under pressure, quick thinking, and compassion. These skills translate seamlessly into her approach to flight training: meticulous, patient, and focused on student success.
At Flying with Grace, this unique blend of life experience and cultural richness shapes an inclusive, supportive community where all aspiring pilots can thrive.
Flying with Grace was founded in September 2023, born from a lifelong dream to share the joy of flight with others. Located at the historic
Narromine Aerodrome -once an elementary Flight Training School during WWII-our mission is to honour that legacy by offering quality recreational flight training in a supportive and inspiring environment.
At the heart of Flying with Grace is a deep commitment to community
and giving back, especially to the next generation. We believe aviation is more than just a career—it’s a passion that can change lives. That’s why we’re proud to support and engage with local groups, youth programs, and initiatives that uplift and connect people.
We actively support organisations such as Boys to the Bush and Tradies in Sight, which foster resilience and wellbeing in young people and tradespeople. I volunteer my time mentoring young women, serving on committees, and helping shape a more inclusive future in aviation.
I regularly organise and participate in events like Girls with a Mission, Aviation Career Days, and school Career Expo Days, with the aim of inspiring youth—especially girls—to consider aviation as a path of possibility.Locally, I’ve been a proud volunteer for my daughter’s soccer team since 2019 and served on the Narromine Aeroclub Committee.
Originally from Sydney, I moved to Narromine in 2012 and brought with me over a decade of service as a paramedic, along with a diverse range of transferable skills from other professional roles, such as Joint Child Protection Response Team and Community Roles.
Outside the cockpit, I’m passionate about international travel, arts and culture and scuba diving—adventures that continue to shape how I connect with others and the world. Fun Fact- I was a rescue diver!
Flying with Grace is more than a business—it’s a platform to educate, empower, and engage through aviation. Whether you're taking your first flight or dreaming of the skies, we’re here to support you on your journey.
